Self Styling is (or should be) a way of life.

Throughout our everyday lives, we are always trying our best, whether it's our self-styled #ootds, beauty regimes, exercise decisions or life choices.

There's never right or wrong ways and we all have our own struggles but it's how we make the best out of every situation. The Self Stylist,
created by Ng Yi Lian, wants to connect and relate through her own journey.

The Self Stylist blog is packed with reviews, videos, interviews, tips and perspectives on leading more stylish and thoughtful lives.

THE SELF STYLIST is Ng Yi Lian. The ex Asia Pacific retail editor of global trend forecast agency Worth Global Style Network (WGSN) and fashion news editor of Harper's BAZAAR, Yi Lian has spent over a decade in the business of fashion as a journalist, stylist and observer.

During her stint in the Singapore edition of Harper's BAZAAR, Yi Lian has conducted countless one-on-one interviews with international fashion luminaries such as Kenzo Takada, Hussein Chalayan, Sir Paul Smith, Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks, Liu Wen, Zac Posen, Peter Pilotto, Mary Katrantzou, and many more.

In 2015, Yi Lian was awarded the Top Prize for Best Feature Article from the Media Publishers Association Singapore for an interview she conducted with two local politicians for the BAZAAR Man publication. In 2013, she also spearheaded the launch of Harper's BAZAAR Instagram account, before many other local publications jumped onto the social media bandwagon.

At WGSN, Yi Lian trawled hundreds of thousands of square feet on the grounds of trade shows, shopping malls and streets in cities such as Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Seoul, Melbourne, Sydney, Manila and Singapore, converting her trained eye in fashion trendspotting and insights on retail strategies into extensive reports.

Besides running THE SELF STYLIST, Yi Lian is also the independent business owner of her eponymously branded floral atelier—Yi Lian Ng Floral Atelier, which has served many luxury clients such as Gucci, Fendi, Burberry, Damiani, Van Cleef & Arpels, Boucheron, Cartier, Chopard, Michael Kors, Tod's, Cle de Peau Beaute, Clarins and many more.

Finding it difficult to give up her passion for writing and styling, Yi Lian also freelances as a personal stylist for private clients and fashion writer for numerous publications.
